Buemann's illustrations can often seem almost childlike, yet they are simultaneously simple, stylish, and minimalist. The universe is often created with thin black lines – often with a focus on conveying complex emotions in a simple way. She tries to cut to the chase without unnecessary lines, and in every single drawing, her wish is to say a lot with very little.

"I have always been interested in people and their emotions – both the rational and the irrational. In my work, I use myself and my own feelings as a starting point, but a lot of people recognize themselves in the works. I believe it is crucial that we do not hide or underestimate our feelings, but that we dare to acknowledge them as a part of being alive. My drawings can be seen as a simple tool to get a little closer to our own emotions."
