It all started with the opening of our beautiful store at Nørrebrogade 78 in Copenhagen in 2003 – since then, the company has only grown. In 2017, we opened the doors to our store at Guldsmedgade 25 in Aarhus. New business models have emerged, and today, in addition to our stores and webshop, we are involved in various interior design projects across the country. Our latest project is the interior design of the beautiful Hotel Mayfair in inner Copenhagen.

Style and concept

We design and produce the majority of our many wooden and steel furniture ourselves, but we also sell selected products from Danish and international brands such as Innovation Living, Woud, Anglepoise and many more. All have in common that they fit into our design language and the design universe we want to create at No78.

Our own furniture brand BY SOL is designed and developed by us, with the majority produced at our own carpentry workshop in Indonesia, which we started in 2006. This part of our designs is mainly produced in teak wood, which is an Indonesian wood type. In addition, to the extent possible, we use recycled wood.

The recycled wood we use can, for example, come from old houses or boats, and it provides a raw material that is not only more sustainable but also has a history. The history provides a beautiful patina that gives an extra depth to the warm color of the wood.

Common to our designs is that they often take inspiration from the furniture designs of the 50s and 60s, which we truly appreciate here at No78.

Our Productions

Our teak and sungkai wood furniture is handmade at our joinery in Indonesia, and each piece is unique.

In addition to production from our own joinery, we collaborate with skilled manufacturers in Europe. Most of our oak furniture is produced here, and the thorough and detail-oriented craft tradition is clearly visible in these furniture designs.

We also produce some of our products locally in Copenhagen. Both at our own joinery and in collaboration with other skilled local Copenhagen joiners. Among other things, No78's very popular linoleum tables are made locally in Copenhagen.

In fact, we love the elegant curves of 50s and 60s furniture designs.

...and when we occasionally come across a beautiful, original example of classic designer furniture, we restore and re-upholster them in our own workshop. The re-upholstered originals are subsequently sold in our physical stores.
