Treatment of your desk
For desks to have a long lifespan, they must be continuously treated and maintained correctly.
Desks in solid wood:
Our solid oak and teak wood desks, such as the c007 desk, require regular care to maintain their natural beauty and durability. For cleaning, wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid strong cleaning agents, as they can dry out the wood. To maintain the desk, treat it with wood oil or wax once a year to protect it from drying out and stains. If the table is in bright sunlight, it may need to be treated several times a year. Conversely, if the table receives no sun at all, treatment is only necessary every 2 years. To prevent any damage or drying out, you can use coasters for hot objects and avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the wood to fade or warp. In case of damage to the table, solid wood can be sanded down, after which it must be treated.
Desks in oak veneer:
Our desks in oak veneer, such as the c002 desk, are treated very similarly to solid wood. Oak veneer has a thin wood surface, which makes it more delicate than solid wood, but still beautiful and functional. For cleaning, use a dry or slightly damp cloth for wiping. Avoid excess water, as veneer can loosen if it gets too wet. You should maintain linoleum with either light oiling, soap treatment, or furniture polish. Always use gentle cleaning agents.
Desks in linoleum:
Linoleum is a durable and environmentally friendly material popular for desks due to its matte surface and soft feel. For cleaning, use a lightly damp cloth with mild soap, and avoid harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage the surface. To best maintain the desk, regularly apply linoleum care or wax to preserve the color and protect the surface from stains.
